IT Application Administrator System Architect: Job Title: Application Administrator / System Architect Job Summary: The ideal candidate will assist in evaluating, procuring, implementing, and managing software solutions while supporting the organization's IT infrastructure. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills to maintain and improve the organizations software ecosystem, license servers, and operational support functions. Key Responsibilities: Software Evaluation, Procurement, and Integration Collaborate with the Indirect Procurement Team to evaluate software for compatibility with the organizations existing architecture. Lead the procurement, implementation, and support planning of various software solutions (SaaS, on-premise, and custom-developed tools). Analyze software usage trends to manage license renewals, account for growth, and ensure demand is met. System and Server Management Manage and maintain license servers for software on Windows and Linux platforms. Debug and resolve issues related to servers, integrations, daemons, vendor daemons, license files, and system dependencies. Create and manage AWS environments required for tool implementations or hosting license servers. System Architecture and Strategic Planning Partner with organizational stakeholders to identify strategic areas for system architecture enhancements. Define priorities, establish timelines, set expectations, and execute deliverables in alignment with organizational goals. Operational Support and Troubleshooting Manage operational support requests from end users related to IT Applications tools, including debugging, troubleshooting, and escalating issues. Oversee and troubleshoot networked peripheral devices such as printers. Collaborate with IT teams to ensure timely security patching, monitoring, and resolution of system issues. Collaboration and Vendor Management Work closely with vendors to ensure consistent service, stability, and support for IT Applications tools. Partner with internal IT teams to support and enhance existing systems and initiatives. Technical Expertise Demonstrate proficiency with command-line interfaces (e.g., Terminal, Command Prompt). Possess experience with FlexLM licensing tools (e.g., lmutil, lmtools, lmstat, lmgrd), options files, license files, and log files on Linux and Windows machines. Leverage knowledge of the software development process, specifically GitHub repositories, to manage and integrate tools effectively. Configure, manage, and troubleshoot SSO integrations using Azure Entra to ensure secure authentication for organizational tools and applications. Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently. Proficiency in AWS environments for system architecture and software deployment. Experience with software procurement, integration, and operational support. Strong knowledge of FlexLM license management and related tools. Familiarity with system security practices, patch management, and monitoring tools. Effective communication skills to collaborate with vendors, stakeholders, and team members. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with on-premise and SaaS software implementations. Familiarity with network device troubleshooting and management (e.g., printers) Demonstrated success in leading strategic System Architecture /Software Implementation initiatives. Additional Key Responsibilities Automation: Automate repetitive tasks to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual effort. Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive design documentation and runbooks for implemented systems and tools to ensure consistency, clarity, and continuity. DevOps Collaboration: Work closely with the Applications Development team to integrate new tools and software, leveraging GitHub and other relevant platforms for streamlined processes.
