Job Description

This job role will be responsible for providing SME help to team members for support and maintenance off CAT parts Mainframes systems.
The role is viewe'd as skilled in IT development methodologies, application development and troubleshooting of mainframe applications. The position manages the completion of own work assignments and coordinates work with others. Based on past experiences and knowledge, the incumbent works in close collaboration with peers & other IT teams.
 
Job Duties/Required skills:
  • 10 to 12 years of experience in Mainframe technology domains like Cobol, JCL, CICS, DB2 Database as backend
  • Knowledge on tools like Endeavour, Install1, Abend Aid is required
  • Candidates with experience in Support & Development projects in the supply chain business and with knowledge in warehouse functionalities like inbound, outbound, ordering, invoicing are preferable
  • This role is for 24/7 support, so candidate is expected to work in rotation in all three shifts in a day that includes night shift (9.30 pm to 6.30 am) and during weekends
  • Candidate is expected to work on small enhancements and change requests for supported applications.
  • He is responsible for gathering the technical requirements, providing the work estimates, preparing technical design, performing System Integration testing, User Acceptance Testing & leading production implementation through change management process
  • This involves the collection, analysis, and prioritization of requirements from the project management, support, and business sources.
  • Follow CAT best practices and standards while developing code
  • Actively participates in testing and delivery
  • Works with other team leads to ensure integration across teams
  • Responsible for timely completion of deliverables with high quality
  • Report on deliverables status to program coordinator on daily basis
  • Consult with the architects for any design suggestions or modifications
  • Support Incident resolution, problem resolution and small enhancements by gathering requirements from business counterparts
  • Should be good in oral and written communication with English.
  • Candidate should have bachelors in engineering

  • Describes main issues and considerations when using standard operating procedures.
  • Identifies key features and functions of standard operating procedures.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
