International Privacy Counsel and Data Protection Officer

Role Overview: As the International Privacy Counsel and Data Protection Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the TD Privacy Office and global lines of business. Your role will involve enhancing relationships with clients and partners globally, collaborating with Sales and Operations teams, and working on cutting-edge privacy projects. Key Responsibilities: - Act as the legal advisor and first point of contact for privacy and data protection matters, focusing on Asia and Africa. - Provide support for privacy and data protection issues in legal and commercial agreements. - Draft and maintain data protection-related legal agreements and company policies. - Cultivate relationships with business leaders, offering proactive advice and solutions. - Collaborate with various teams in a multicultural environment to identify and resolve privacy issues effectively. - Ensure products and services are designed with privacy in mind. - Interface with data protection authorities and serve as the designated data protection officer in different jurisdictions. Qualifications Required: - Fluent in English. - Qualified to practice law in any country and in good standing. - 5+ years of experience practicing law with a strong focus on data protection/privacy law, preferably in the tech sector. - IAPP certification and experience with Trust Arc privacy platform are advantageous. - Familiarity with global privacy laws, including European, Brazilian, and US regulations. - Experience managing cross-border transactions and working with outside counsel. - Strong communication skills to engage with stakeholders and articulate complex issues effectively. - Proven track record of handling multiple customer transactions successfully and meeting commitments.,
