Internal Auditor

Role & responsibilities

• Conduct internal audits of financial records, operational processes, and inventory systems.
  
• Audit inventory processes to ensure proper valuation, security, and documentation of jewellery and raw materials (gold, diamonds, etc.).
  
• Evaluate and strengthen internal controls to mitigate fraud and theft risks, especially in high-value stock handling.
  
• Review procurement, production, and sales processes to ensure transparency and compliance.
  
• Verify compliance with industry regulations (e.g., hallmarking standards, import/export norms, anti-money laundering (AML), and KYC regulations).
  
• Prepare detailed audit reports with observations, risks, and recommendations.
  
• Liaise with department heads to discuss audit findings and facilitate the implementation of corrective actions.
  
• Conduct surprise stock audits and reconciliation of physical inventory with records.
  
• Assist in the development and implementation of SOPs specific to jewellery handling and retail operations.
  
• Stay up to date with applicable laws, tax implications, and audit standards related to the jewellery industry.
