Role Description

troglomorphic (cave-dwelling) species in India

Qualifications

Applicants should have a background in biological sciences, particularly biotechnology and ecology.

Basic laboratory skills in DNA extraction, as well as PCR, sequencing and NGS, would be preferred.

Familiarity with evolutionary or molecular tools is essential.

Prior field experience (sampling, ecological surveys, or related activities) will be considered an advantage.

The ideal candidate would be scientifically ambitious with good research acumen and interest towards ecology and evolution. There will be minimum supervision on this project, and the student will be expected to contribute scientifically in arguments and experimental planning.

Internship Details:

Duration: Minimum commitment of three months.

Stipend: This is an unpaid position.

Location: Centre for Ecological Sciences, IISc Bangalore, with possible field components.

Start date: December 1st
