Job Description

You will be working with the NPD team in Bengaluru. This team runs on a hustle mindset with an objective to increase Exponent Energy’s market share in the city of Bengaluru and beyond and help more people adapt to 15-minute rapid charging technology achieved by our Flexible Energy Stack, which consists of the e^pack (battery pack) and e^pump (charging station). Roles & Responsibilities: As a Vehicle Integration Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless and high-quality integration of EV battery systems into electric vehicles (3W, 4W, or commercial platforms). You will play a key role in validating design-fit, functionality, compliance with vehicle systems, and ensuring robust quality controls during retrofitting or OEM-level integration. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Engineering, Vehicle OEMs, Testing, and Production to drive system-level quality improvements. Battery-Vehicle Integration Quality: Validate and monitor battery fitment, mounting systems, HV & LV electrical interconnections, and vehicle communication protocols (CAN, LIN). Ensure compliance of battery pack interfaces with vehicle layout, mechanical tolerances, and thermal zones. Process Quality & Validation: Define and implement quality checkpoints at every stage of vehicle integration and commissioning. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for integration-related issues. Conduct field quality audits and support on-road vehicle trials. Testing and Inspection: Conduct or support validation tests like IR checks, HV insulation, functional signal verification, thermal behavior, and EMI/EMC compliance. Ensure conformity of wiring harness, fusing, grounding, and contactor operations during integration. Standards and Documentation: Maintain technical records of integration protocols, vehicle-specific deviations, inspection results, and approvals. Ensure all activities comply with relevant automotive and safety standards (AIS, ISO 26262, IATF 16949). Supplier and Customer Interface: Coordinate with OEMs and retrofitting partners to resolve quality issues. Provide quality feedback and recommendations to R&D for enhancements to the vehicle interface. About the candidate Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Automotive / Mechatronics Engineering. 7+ years of experience in automotive integration or EV systems, preferably with battery pack or powertrain exposure. Strong understanding of vehicle systems, electrical schematics, CAN diagnostics, and thermal management. Working knowledge of quality tools: FMEA, 8D, Fishbone, Pareto, SPC and APQP etc. Familiarity with relevant regulatory standards (AIS-038, AIS-048, AIS-156, etc.) is a plus. Hands-on experience with testing equipment like multimeters, CAN analyzers, thermal cameras, etc. Ability to travel to integration sites or OEM locations as needed.
