Insurance Product Manager

Job Description

Role Overview We are seeking a dynamic and analytical Product Manager Insurance who will be responsible for end-to-end product lifecycle management—from ideation and research to launch and iteration. You will play a pivotal role in building and managing insurance products that cater to the evolving needs of customers and partners. Key Responsibilities Own the strategy, roadmap, and execution of insurance product offerings (Health, Life, or General Insurance). Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities and gaps. Collaborate closely with underwriting, legal, operations, tech, design, and sales teams to design customer-first products. Define product features, write detailed PRDs (Product Requirement Documents), and manage development sprints with tech teams. Liaise with insurance partners (Insurers, TPAs, Brokers) for co-creation, pricing discussions, and regulatory alignment. Monitor product performance through data analytics, feedback, and experimentation; iterate to improve adoption, retention, and profitability. Ensure compliance with IRDAI guidelines and other relevant insurance regulatory norms. Lead go-to-market planning with marketing and distribution teams, ensuring successful product launch and positioning. Serve as the voice of the customer within the organization, ensuring every product solves real user pain points. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA preferred. 4–8 years of overall experience, with at least 2–4 years in insurance product management. Strong understanding of the Indian insurance ecosystem, digital distribution models, and regulatory landscape. Experience working with cross-functional teams in a high-growth or startup environment. Ability to break down complex problems and drive data-driven decision making. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills. Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology and familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, Figma, etc.
