Job Title: Manager Learning Design (Video-Based Learning)

Location: HSR Layout, Bangalore

Experience Level: 58 Years

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Manager Learning Design with proven expertise in leading the development of video-first learning experiences. In this leadership role, you will guide a team of learning designers, own the design quality across programs, and bring innovation to how we deliver content in fast-evolving domains such as technology, AI, data science, and digital transformation. Youll also be instrumental in defining processes and scaling the team’s capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Learning Designers and Senior Learning Designers focused on video-based learning.
  • Set instructional strategy and visual storytelling direction for learning programs.
  • You own the quality of all the deliverables
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration experience.
  • Collaborate with SMEs, trainers, and vendors to ensure learning outcomes are achieved on time, in alignment with the defined delivery timelines.
  • Work with the team and SMEs to develop end-user learning materials. Materials will include storyboards and course videos, eLearning presentations, hands-on projects, trainer instruction document, audio scripts, demonstrations and documentation.
  • Plan and own the content development lifecycle. Develop design documents based on the ToC and provide instructional strategy to ensure learner experience.
  • Review and sign off on key deliverables like storyboards, scripts, and design templates.
  • Design and optimize workflows, templates, and quality standards for scalable video learning production.
  • Build team capability in instructional design, video editing basics, and the use of generative AI tools.
  • Support performance management, mentoring, and career development of team members.
  • Champion learner-centric design and ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Monitor trends in instructional design, media formats, and learner engagement to continually evolve the learning experience.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5–8 years of experience in instructional design, with a strong portfolio in video-based learning.
  • Experience in developing storyboards, audio-scripts, projects, and other study materials.
  • Experience in developing Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 animation-based learning content.
  • Ability to innovate ideas and participate in training programs
  • Good understanding of learner-centric, performance-based instructional theories and adult learning principles and their implementation thereof
  • Ability to work effectively in an agile, continuously evolving, and sometimes ambiguous environment
  • Ability to mentor teams along with planning and overseeing the allocation of work. Ensuring that tasks are completed to a high standard and within agreed timeframes.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing design teams or large-scale learning projects.
  • Deep understanding of instructional design models and learner behaviour.
  • Knowledge of rapid development tools and familiarity with AI-assisted content development.
  • Proficient in MS Office; exposure to project tracking and agile tools is a plus.

Good to Have:

  • Understanding of modern technologies (AI, cloud, data, etc.).
  • Basic tech and coding knowledge.
  • Familiarity with SCORM, accessibility, and compliance standards.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships or external production teams.
  • Knowledge of software tools for video production or e-learning development (e.g., Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, Canva).
