Job Summary

The In-Process Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted operation of pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment during production. The role focuses on preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of process equipment to maintain GMP compliance, minimize downtime, and support efficient production operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform

  in-process preventive and corrective maintenance

  of pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment such as granulators, blenders, tablet presses, coating machines, capsule fillers, filling lines, autoclaves, and utilities.
• Attend and resolve

  equipment breakdowns during production

  with minimal downtime.
• Ensure equipment availability in compliance with

  cGMP, GDP, and safety standards

  .
• Execute and document

  routine preventive maintenance schedules

  as per SOPs.
• Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement

  corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

  .
• Support

  equipment qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ)

  and validation activities.
• Coordinate with Production, QA, and Validation teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain proper

  maintenance records, logbooks, and checklists

  as per regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with

  safety practices

  , lockout/tagout procedures, and EHS guidelines.
• Assist in installation, commissioning, and modification of new equipment.
• Monitor spare parts usage and coordinate with stores for availability of critical spares.
• Participate in audits (internal, regulatory) and respond to maintenance-related observations.

Technical Skills & Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of

  pharmaceutical process equipment

  and utilities.
• Understanding of

  GMP, FDA, WHO, and regulatory guidelines

  .
• Hands-on experience with

  mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems

  .
• Familiarity with

  PLC-controlled equipment

  and automation systems (basic troubleshooting).
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance systems and breakdown analysis.
