Job Description

Plan, organize, and manage infrastructure and team of infra engineers to ensure the stable and

secure operation of the organization's IT infrastructure. This includes developing, maintaining,

supporting, and optimizing network, server, storage and data infrastructures.

Job Responsibility

• Senior / Technical lead on systems, networking, and capacity planning for new

infrastructure projects for our engineering and technical support.

• To manage the delivery of new and replacement of hosted infrastructure and

environments from request through to Operational. In depth knowledge about VM,

Kubernetes, cloud (at least one), load balancers, storage, networking and servers.

• Track record of delivering IT infrastructure projects within a technically complex and

dynamic environment, specifically that required to support multiple business projects.

• Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and

integrate automation processes.

• Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting

problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues

• Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and

implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.

• Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications,

workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with

limited disruptions

• Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance
• Perform analysis of network needs and contribute to design of network architecture,

integration and installation.

• Coordinates with the delivery and architecture team in order to understand and meet

their requirements.

• Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security

permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and

resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together

seamlessly.

• Evaluate network hardware and software requirements and capabilities and make

recommendations. Checks systems in order to optimize performance and to initiate

recovery action after system failures

• Working with stakeholders directly to design and drive the implementation plan. Seek

necessary approvals from client's Information Security groups. Conduct various types of

product tests to comply with the client's security policies.

• Monitor product performance, and develop and report on metrics to monitor scalability.

Raise incidents impacting the product, conduct root-cause analysis, and ensure timely

resolution.

• Effectively communicate updates and project expectations to all stakeholders, avoiding

or resolving escalations along the way. Providing feedback on the implementation model

and approach, and looking for upsell opportunities.

• Collect detailed feedback after every engagement and make suggestions for how the

client communication, IT support, or overall product could improve.

• Strong organization skills as you will manage costs and system access to AWS

deployments.

Must Skills

• Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking

protocols

• Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT

operations best practices.

• Familiar with various TCP/IP and network communication protocols such as SMTP,

SNMP, NTP, SSH, RDP and many others.

• Experience in infrastructure design and sizing (on-prem vs cloud-based hosting),

OS administration, software packaging is a plus

• Design on-premise or cloud-based solution

• Knowledge on cloud based infrastructure deployment, management and security

etc.

• Hands on experience running cloud infrastructure in public clouds like AWS.
• Network expertise including routing, switching, IP addresses and subnets,

firewalls, load balancers, VPN, etc.

Desirable skill

• Experience in programming in one or more languages; the most desirable include

UNIX Shell Scripting, PowerShell.

• Experience with scripting and automation tools
• Expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery

protocols

• Design enterprise-wide deployment strategies
• Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for

data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures

Experience Level

5 to 10 years of experience in managing infrastructure development and administration

Education and desired Certifications

Graduate with technical background

ITIL certification will be an added advantage.
