Infrastructure Engineer II

In this role as an Infrastructure Engineer II (Network) at American Express, you will play a crucial part in providing technical direction for Network Platforms within a portfolio. Your responsibilities will involve leveraging your business and technical knowledge to support business strategies and deliver business value. You will contribute to building and enhancing the network infrastructure required to support platforms or applications in terms of robustness, scalability, availability, and efficiency. Additionally, you will collaborate with Technical and Business Architects to ensure that developments align with the business and IT strategic plan. Your role will also involve serving as a high-level Technical SME for the Global Network Infrastructure at American Express, with a focus on resolving high-severity outages and incidents and providing technical guidance for the platform(s)/applications within the supported portfolio. Key Responsibilities: - Provide technical direction for Network Platforms within a portfolio - Collaborate with Technical and Business Architects to ensure developments support the business and IT strategic plan - Serve as a high-level Technical SME for the Global Network Infrastructure at American Express - Resolve high-severity, business-impacting outages and incidents - Ensure infrastructure build aligns with business and IT strategy Qualifications Required: - Expert level knowledge in networking protocols like TCP/IP, OSPF, and BGP - Experience with networking platforms such as Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, ASR, Nexus OS, Catalyst Switches, and more - Experience in network automation using Python, Ansible, Puppet, etc. - Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience in a global Data Centre environment in the IT industry - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Science Engineering, or significant experience - Experience with design and implementation of Data Centre Network Infrastructure - Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills,
