Information Security Specialist

Role Overview: bp is looking for a Global Information Security Specialist to support the company's transition to an International Energy Company (IEC) and help in achieving its goal of reaching net zero. As part of the Business Information Security team, you will be responsible for identifying and implementing security solutions to make bp a cyber resilient organization. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct comprehensive security assessments of systems, identifying risks and recommending remediation measures. - Assess and communicate cybersecurity risks to business areas, ensuring clear understanding of potential impacts and mitigation strategies. - Assist in developing and promoting a strong cyber security culture within the organization. - Provide specialist security expertise during security incidents, supporting incident response activities and improvement recommendations. - Act as the primary point of contact for information security, offering timely and accurate expertise on security matters affecting systems and data. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Information or Cyber Security, Computer Science, or Engineering. - Working towards certifications such as CISM, CRISC, CISSP, or CompTIA Security+. - Knowledge of security frameworks such as ISO 27001/2, NIST, and CIS framework. Desirable Experience and Capability: - Previous experience in information security roles in various industries. - Ability to explain security concepts to different audiences. - Strong understanding of cyber risk assessment methodologies and translating technical findings into business impact assessments. - Attention to detail, ability to work independently, and balance multiple activities effectively. - Adaptability in tailoring security recommendations to different operating environments and utilizing technology and data for decision-making.
