Industrial Product Designer

Summary:

Responsibilities:

• Develop conceptual designs through sketching, visualization, and digital modeling to address user needs and clinical workflows.
  
• Create detailed 3D models using CAD software (CATIA, Autodesk, SolidWorks) with a focus on ergonomics, manufacturability, and compliance with medical device standards.
  
• Produce high-fidelity renderings and visual presentations to communicate design intent to stakeholders, including engineering, marketing, and executive teams.
  
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers and industrial design leads to ensure design feasibility, material selection, and production readiness.
  
• Conduct user research and usability testing to validate design concepts and iterate based on clinical feedback.
  
• Maintain design documentation, including design specifications, change logs, and compliance records in line with ISO 13485 and FDA regulatory requirements.
  
• Participate in design reviews, prototyping sessions, and cross-functional team meetings throughout the product development lifecycle.
  
• Stay current with emerging trends in healthcare design, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
  
• 13 years of professional experience in industrial product design, preferably within the medical device or healthcare technology sector.
  
• Proficiency in CAD software, including CATIA, Autodesk (e.g., Fusion 360), and SolidWorks, with a strong portfolio demonstrating technical and creative capability.
  
• Expertise in sketching, visual storytelling, and digital rendering tools (e.g., KeyShot, Photoshop, Illustrator) to effectively communicate design concepts.
  
• Demonstrated understanding of human factors engineering and user-centered design principles in healthcare environments.
  
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced setting.
  
• Familiarity with regulatory standards such as ISO 13485, FDA Design Controls, and IEC 62304 is highly desirable.
  
• Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team and present design concepts clearly and confidently.
