Industrial Engineer (Textile)

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct 

    time & motion studies

    , layout planning, and line balancing across spinning, weaving, dyeing, finishing, and garmenting units.
  • Implement 

    Lean Manufacturing

    5S

    SMED

    , and 

    Kaizen

     initiatives to improve throughput and reduce non-value-added activities.
  • Design and monitor 

    capacity utilization plans

    , productivity metrics, and key operational KPIs 
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to drive operational excellence and yield improvement.
  • Develop 

    standard operating procedures (SOPs)

     and 

    method improvements

     for all key processes.
  • Use analytical tools (Excel, Power BI, or MES data) to identify trends, downtime causes, and efficiency gaps.
  • Lead 

    cost-reduction and process-automation projects

     while maintaining product quality and sustainability goals.
  • Support plant expansion or new line set-ups through capacity calculation, manpower planning, and layout optimization.
  • Benchmark productivity against industry standards and identify continuous improvement roadmaps.

Candidate Profile

Education:

  • Diploma/ B.Tech / M.Tech in Industrial Engineering, Textile Technology, Production Engineering, or related discipline.

Experience:

  • 7–14 years of experience in industrial engineering roles within 

    textile or home-furnishing

     manufacturing environments.
  • Proven experience implementing Lean / Six Sigma / TPM methodologies.
  • Exposure to ERP/MES systems and manufacturing data analytics preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Time study, work measurement, layout design (AutoCAD / Visio).
  • Lean tools (Kaizen, 5S, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping).
  • Capacity & manpower planning models.
  • Productivity software and Excel modelling.

Behavioural Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Hands-on approach with strong shop-floor presence.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strategic yet detail-oriented mindset.
  • High sense of ownership and execution discipline.
