Job Description: Plant Electrician

Job Title: Plant Electrician / Industrial Electrician
Location: Chakan, Pune
Department: Maintenance
Reports To: Plant Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintenance & Repair: Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical equipment and associated electronic controls, including motors, transformers, control systems, switchgear, and lighting systems.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical malfunctions and failures using a variety of testing devices to minimize production downtime.
• Preventive Maintenance: Develop and execute routine preventive maintenance (PM) programs for electrical systems to ensure optimal operation and proactively identify potential issues.
• Installation: Install new electrical equipment, wiring, and components according to blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams, ensuring proper grounding and compliance with all relevant codes.
• Safety & Compliance: Maintain safety standards and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance, repair activities.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, mechanics, and plant operators to coordinate repairs, support equipment upgrades, and optimize electrical system performance.
• System Knowledge: Work with various electrical systems, including high and low voltage (up to 480V or higher), single and three-phase power, motor control centers (MCCs), and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program or an Associate's degree/diploma in Electrical Technology is often required or ITI preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience as an industrial or plant electrician
• Licensing: Valid electrician's license or certification as required by local and state regulations.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documents.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical codes and safety regulations.
• Familiarity with VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), motors, and control systems.
• Proficiency in using various electrical testing instruments and hand/power tools.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

• Ability to work in a demanding industrial environment, which may include exposure to noise, dust, heat, and working at heights or in confined spaces.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and respond to emergency call-outs as needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹28,000.00 per month
