The Assistant Cook - Indian will be responsible for preparing, producing, and presenting authentic Indian cuisine in accordance with Sodexo India's standards and within budget. This role emphasizes high-quality food preparation, stringent hygiene practices, and efficient kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on culinary professional with a strong commitment to quality and safety, capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team. Key Responsibilities: Prepare, cook, and produce Indian food to company standards, with particular emphasis on presentation, hygiene, and economy. Ensure proper cleanliness of kitchen equipment and flooring . Observe all safety rules and procedures , ensuring that equipment and materials are not left in a dangerous state. Ensure proper grooming and hygiene for self and for all staff under supervision. Assist Manager / Site In-charge / Sous Chef / Sr Cook in indenting for provisions . Perform any other assignment given occasionally or on a daily basis by the immediate superior or the management. Key Competencies & Requirements: Minimum 6 years of experience in hands-on cooking , specifically with Indian cuisine. Proven experience in a high-pressure catering environment, preferably commercial or industrial. Experience in menu planning and production . Experience in or exposure to bulk cooking . Strong commitment to quality and an eye for detail . Able to work with a substantial level of accountability . Ability to work individually or in a team . Ability to control food costs . Demonstrated creativity in culinary execution.
