Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our finance team in the shipping industry. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of relevant experience and a strong foundation in accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance. This role requires working closely with operations and finance teams to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and update financial records, ledgers, and journals
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Handle accounts payable and receivable processes
Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies
Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and internal policies Coordinate with auditors during internal and external audits Collaborate with cross-functional teams for financial accuracy GST, TDS, and other Indian tax regulations
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor s or Master s degree in Commerce (B.Com / M.Com) or related field
Minimum 1 year of accounting experience
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, QuickBooks) Strong knowledge of IFRS and Indian tax regulations Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Good communication and interpersonal skills
