Import Logistics Manager (High-Volume)

As an Import Logistics Manager at our dynamic team in Iraq, your role is crucial in managing the end-to-end logistics for all inbound container shipments. You will be the key point of contact for import operations, ensuring the smooth flow of high-volume containerized imports. Here's what you can expect in this role: **Key Responsibilities:** - **End-to-End Import Management:** Oversee the complete logistics cycle for high-volume inbound shipments from the port of loading to the final destination in Iraq. - **Container Management:** Expertly manage 20ft & 40ft HC containers, handling both bulk-loaded cargo (e.g., grains, raw materials) and standard general cargo. - **Shipping Line Negotiation:** Act as the main liaison with major shipping lines, negotiating freight rates, tracking shipments, and resolving issues proactively. - **Customs & Clearance:** Direct relationships with customs clearing agents, ensuring accurate documentation for smooth customs clearance. - **Problem-Solving:** Identify and resolve logistics bottlenecks, errors, or delays to minimize costs and ensure operational continuity. - **Reporting:** Maintain detailed records of shipments, costs, and transit times, providing regular reports to senior management on import KPIs. **Required Qualifications & Skills:** - **Experience:** 10-15 years in import logistics, preferably with high volume containerized imports. - **Volume Handling:** Demonstrable experience managing very high volumes of containerized imports. - **Cargo Expertise:** Hands-on experience with both bulk cargo and general palletized/crated cargo. - **Stakeholder Management:** Exceptional negotiation and relationship management skills with shipping lines and customs clearing agents. - **Language:** Fluency in Arabic (spoken and written) is mandatory, with professional proficiency in English. - **Relocation:** Willingness to relocate to Iraq is required. **Preferred Qualifications:** - Candidates currently based in India with extensive international logistics experience are encouraged to apply. - Previous work experience in Iraq is advantageous, showing a clear understanding of Iraqi port operations and customs regulations. - Advanced skills in logistics software and MS Excel for tracking and reporting. **What We Offer:** - A competitive, tax-efficient salary package reflecting your skills and experience. - Comprehensive relocation support, including visa processing, flights, and secure housing. - A senior, impactful role within a major operation, offering significant responsibility and growth potential.,
