POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to manage our financial operations, support our growth and ensure compliance in a hybrid work environment. The ideal candidate will handle budgeting, payroll, tax compliance, and financial reporting, collaborating with HR and leadership to drive strategic decisions. This role is critical for maintaining financial transparency and supporting our mission to deliver cutting-edge IT solutions. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Minimum of 2- 3 years in accounting/finance, preferably in an IT startup or fast-paced environment, with experience in scaling financial processes, budgeting, payroll, and tax compliance. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting or any similar related field. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES 1. Financial Data Management: Gather, monitor, and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and support decision-making for new hires and existing employees. Reconcile bank statements, vendor payments, client receipts, and payroll entries 2. Financial Reporting: Provide relevant financial data to the Chartered Accountant’s Office in order to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and present insights to the leadership team. 3. Invoicing and billing: Prepare and issue client invoices on time as per project milestones or contracts; track receivables, send reminders, and follow up for payments; handle employee reimbursements and petty cash 4. Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop department-wise and company-level budgets for operational and strategic planning; Conduct cost and revenue forecasting to support growth and hiring plans. 5. Payroll and Compliance: Process payroll for employees, ensuring timely EPF/ESI contributions and compliance with GST filing , return and GST credit claims, TDS, ITR, Gratuity and other tax regulations. 6. Tax Management: Coordinate with external CA or auditor to prepare and file tax returns, ensuring adherence to federal and state laws. 7. Cost Mapping and Project Profitability : Track and analyze cost components across departments and projects. Conduct project-wise profitability assessments to support pricing and business strategy. 8. Commercial Proposals and Financial Modelling : Support the preparation of financial components in project commercial proposals, including cost estimation, margin projections, and pricing benchmarks. Work with leads to refine proposals for client pitches and negotiations. 9. Team-wise Revenue and Contribution Analysis : Map revenues generated by individual teams/projects and analyze performance versus projections. Identify financial drivers and provide actionable insights to optimize output. 10. Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow, manage accounts payable/receivable, and optimize liquidity to support hiring and operational needs and also ensure timely payments to vendors and employees. 11. External CA Coordination & Transition : Take over and manage all finance-related tasks currently handled by the external CA, ensuring a smooth transition and in-house control. 12. Payment Follow-Ups and Credit Control : Regularly follow up on outstanding client payments and maintain healthy receivable cycles. Implement systems for credit control and escalation. 13. Accounting Systems: Maintain and update cloud-based accounting tools in HRMS to streamline processes in a hybrid setup. 14. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with departments like HR to align payroll and benefits, and support COO in fundraising or investor reporting as needed. SKILLS & COMPETENCIES 1. Proficient in Ms. Excel for financial modelling and analysis 2. Familiarity with ERP systems 3. Comfort with ambiguity and ability to create structure in a startup environment 4. Excellent attention to detail and time-management skills. 5. Effective communication to present financial insights to non-finance stakeholders 6. Understanding of GAAP, Indian tax regulations (GST, TDS,ITR), and compliance standards Soft SkillsRequired: Strong problem-solving ability and analytical thinking. About the Role We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Backend Developer (Python) with 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in building and maintaining backend systems, APIs, and integrations. At Ideen, you’ll play a key role in designing robust server-side logic for AI-driven and enterprise applications. You will work closely with our frontend developers, QA engineers, and product teams to deliver scalable backend solutions.
