Job Summary

An ICU Nurse provides specialized, high-level care to critically ill patients, involving continuous vital sign monitoring, complex medication/treatment administration (IVs, ventilators), detailed documentation, and crucial collaboration with doctors and specialists, while also offering support to patients and families and responding to emergencies with calm efficiency, managing advanced equipment, and executing detailed care plans to stabilize and improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

:

Continuously monitor vital signs (heart rate, BP, O2 levels) and subtle changes in critically ill patients, documenting everything meticulously.

:

Administer medications (IV, oral, etc.), fluids, and treatments as ordered, managing drips and complex equipment like ventilators.

:

Develop, implement, and execute personalized care plans in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team.

:

Respond quickly and calmly to medical emergencies, coordinating resuscitation efforts and alerting the healthcare team.

:

Work closely with doctors, therapists, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care.

:

Communicate complex information to families, provide emotional support, and educate them on recovery.

:

Proficiently use and maintain complex medical equipment, identifying malfunctions.

:

Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed patient records.

Skill Required

Essential Skills Requirements:

Strong critical thinking problem-solving.

Excellent empathy, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work well under high-stress, fast-paced conditions.

Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and ICU technology.

Relevant nursing license (RN) and certifications (BLS, ACLS).
