About the Role

Advanced Level 2 Operational Support

Key Responsibilities

• IWS Administration & Operations:

  Manage job definitions, calendars, variables, and implement approved changes via Dynamic Workload Console (

  DWC

  ).

• Troubleshooting & Monitoring:

  Perform Level 2 incident resolution, conduct root cause analysis (

  RCA

  ), monitor workloads, verify agent health, and address job failures/SLA breaches.

• Automation & Scripting:

  Develop and maintain custom

  Shell scripting

  (Bash/KornShell) and

  Python

  scripts to enhance batch performance and automate operations.

• Integration:

  Implement and configure advanced job types (e.g., WebService,

  REST API

  , Cloud-native) and integrate IWS with enterprise applications (SAP, Informatica, Oracle).

• Maintenance:

  Assist with

  DB2

  database maintenance, support patching/upgrades, and contribute to proactive monitoring/alerting policies.

Mandatory Skills & Experience (3-5+ Years Preferred)

• Expertise in IBM Workload Automation (IWS/TWS):

  Deep knowledge of IWS internals, Dynamic Workload Console (DWC), Dynamic Agents, and IWS CLI tools.

• Infrastructure:

  Advanced experience with

  Linux/Unix

  OS administration, troubleshooting, and proficiency with

  DB2

  databases (including custom SQL queries).

• Scripting:

  Strong command of

  Shell Scripting

  (Bash/KornShell) and

  Python

  for automation.

• Support:

  Proven ability to handle complex L2 escalations, perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and contribute to High Availability (

  HA/DR

  ) strategies.

• Familiarity with:

  REST APIs, TLS/Certificate management, and working within an Agile/SAFe framework.

Highly Preferred

• Experience with

  Cloud

  platforms (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud) or supporting Amazon RDS databases.
• Exposure to modern tooling like

  Jira, Confluence
