Job description Job Title: IAM Architect Location: Bangalore (Hybrid - 3days WFO) Experience: 8+ Years Job Summary: We are seeking a seasoned and highly accomplished IAM Architect who is a recognized Subject Matter Expert (SME) in both Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Amazon Web Services (AWS) . This pivotal role will be responsible for defining, designing, and overseeing the implementation of enterprise-wide IAM solutions, ensuring secure and efficient access to our critical systems and data, with a strong emphasis on AWS cloud environments. You will provide technical leadership, strategic guidance, and hands-on expertise to integrate and evolve our IAM capabilities. Key Responsibilities: Serve as the primary IAM Subject Matter Expert (SME) , defining the long-term vision, strategy, and roadmap for the organization's IAM capabilities. Act as the AWS Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Identity and Access Management, leading the architecture, design, and implementation of complex AWS IAM solutions (e.g., AWS Organizations, Service Control Policies, IAM Roles and Policies, Identity Center/SSO, EC2 Instance Profiles, Cognito). Design and develop comprehensive IAM architectures, reference models, and standards across hybrid environments, encompassing cloud (AWS primarily, potentially Azure/GCP), on-premise, and SaaS applications. Lead the selection, evaluation, and integration of IAM technologies and platforms (e.g., Identity Governance and Administration (IGA), Privileged Access Management (PAM), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Single Sign-On (SSO), Directory Services). Provide architectural and technical guidance to engineering and operations teams on IAM best practices, security controls, and compliance requirements. Develop and enforce policies and procedures related to identity lifecycle management, access provisioning/de-provisioning, access reviews, and audit logging. Collaborate with security, development, and compliance teams to ensure IAM solutions meet regulatory obligations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001). Drive the automation of IAM processes and controls, leveraging scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles. Conduct architectural reviews, security assessments, and provide expert recommendations to mitigate IAM-related risks. Stay current with emerging IAM trends, technologies, and cloud security threats, translating them into actionable strategies for the organization. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field. 8+ years of progressive experience in Information Security, with at least 5+ years dedicated to IAM architecture and strategy. Demonstrated Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in Identity and Access Management (IAM) principles, protocols, and technologies (e.g., OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, SCIM, LDAP, Kerberos). Proven Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in AWS Identity and Access Management, with extensive experience designing and implementing complex IAM solutions within AWS environments. Strong experience with enterprise-grade IAM solutions covering IGA, PAM, MFA, and SSO. Proficiency in designing secure architectures for cloud-native applications and microservices. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) for managing IAM configurations. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams. Preferred Qualifications: AWS Certified Security - Specialty and/or AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional. Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or similar security certifications. Experience with other public cloud IAM services (Azure AD, GCP Cloud Identity). Hands-on experience with specific IAM vendor products (e.g., SailPoint, Okta, CyberArk, Ping Identity). Experience in a highly regulated industry.
