About the Project:

Who We're Looking For:

HVAC/Refrigeration Engineer


Key Responsibilities:

zero-to-one product R&D journey


Your responsibilities will include:
  • Designing the

    complete vapour compression refrigeration cycle

    for a water-cooled AC system
  • Thermodynamic modelling and optimization of:
  • Compressor (scroll, rotary, or BLDC)
  • Condenser (shell-and-tube, plate)
  • Evaporator coil (DX type or flooded)
  • Radiator heat exchanger (air-water, fan-assisted)
  • Expansion device (TXV, capillary)
  • Designing a

    closed-loop water cooling circuit

    with pump and radiator sizing
  • Simulating airflow and heat rejection using:
  • CFD tools

    (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, SolidWorks Flow Simulation, OpenFOAM)
  • Thermal system solvers

    (EES, CoolProp, TRNSYS, or similar)
  • Creating physical models for:
  • Water-side and air-side pressure drop
  • Heat transfer coefficients (film, convective, fin)
  • Radiator surface efficiency
  • Supporting CAD design, prototype layout, testing, and instrumentation
  • Conducting controlled tests for temperature drop, power consumption, and COP estimation


Required Technical Background:
  • Degree in Mechanical / Thermal / HVAC / Energy Engineering (M.Tech/B.Tech)
  • Strong theoretical grounding in:
  • Vapour compression cycle
  • Heat exchangers (air-water, water-water)
  • Fluid flow & thermodynamics
  • 3–5 years of experience in HVAC or refrigeration product development
  • Hands-on experience in CFD simulation and thermal modelling tools

    :
  • ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation, OpenFOAM, EES, or equivalent

  • Familiar with refrigerant properties (R410a, R32, R290) and selection criteria
  • Good understanding of system COP, compressor loading, and delta-T optimization
  • Bonus if experienced in:
  • Prototype building and lab testing
  • BLDC/EC fans, microchannel heat exchangers, or PCM-based cooling
