Housekeeping Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and supervise daily housekeeping operations in patient areas, wards, OPDs, ICUs, public areas, and administrative blocks.
  
• Ensure all areas meet hospital hygiene and sanitation standards as per NABH/NABL and infection control guidelines.
  
• Supervise housekeeping staff and allocate duties and shifts effectively.
  
• Monitor and ensure proper usage of cleaning materials, equipment, and chemicals.
  
• Coordinate with Infection Control Team, Nursing, and Maintenance departments for timely upkeep of hospital areas.
  
• Maintain inventory and ensure availability of housekeeping consumables and linen.
  
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of hospital premises to ensure cleanliness standards are met.
  
• Handle staff training, attendance, performance monitoring, and grievance redressal.
  
• Manage linen and laundry operations efficiently.
  
• Ensure pest control activities are carried out as per schedule.
  
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly housekeeping reports.
  
• Maintain vendor coordination for outsourced housekeeping or laundry services, if applicable.
  
• Ensure compliance with occupational safety and waste management protocols.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors Degree / Diploma in Hotel Management, Facility Management, or related field.
  
• Minimum

  58 years of experience

  in housekeeping operations, preferably in a hospital or healthcare environment.
• Knowledge of NABH standards and hospital infection control protocols is essential.
  
• Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
