Job Description – Pharmacist

Department: Pharmacy (IP / OP / Stores)
Reporting To: Pharmacy In-Charge / Medical Superintendent
Location: Indiana Hospital

Role Summary

The Pharmacist is responsible for safe, accurate, and timely dispensing of medicines, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, hospital policies, and patient safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Dispense medicines accurately as per valid prescriptions and hospital protocols.
• Verify prescriptions for correctness, dosage, interactions, and contraindications.
• Maintain proper storage conditions including temperature control and LASA segregation.
• Ensure FIFO/FEFO practices and monitor expiry and near-expiry medicines.
• Maintain stock records, GRNs, and daily issue registers.
• Coordinate with stores and purchase departments for stock replenishment.
• Counsel patients on medication usage, dosage, and precautions.
• Ensure compliance with Pharmacy Act, Drug & Cosmetic Act, and NABH standards.
• Participate in audits, inspections, and quality improvement activities.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and infection control standards in the pharmacy.

Eligibility & Skills

• D.Pharm / B.Pharm with valid State Pharmacy Council registration.
• Knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations and drug regulations.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with HIS/Pharmacy software.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in shifts and handle workload pressure.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
