Location: Padur Campus, Chennai Position: Homeroom Teacher (HRT) Curriculum: CBSE Experience Required: Minimum 2-3 years of classroom teaching and homeroom/mentor experience in a CBSE setting Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Education with a B.Ed. (mandatory) Joining Requirement: Immediate Job Overview: Gateway International School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Homeroom Teacher (HRT) to join our Padur Campus under the CBSE curriculum. The ideal candidate will not only deliver effective classroom instruction but will also serve as a key mentor and facilitator for students’ overall academic and personal development. The Homeroom Teacher is responsible for managing a class, ensuring students’ holistic growth, maintaining discipline, and fostering a positive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Academic & Classroom Management: Deliver engaging and lesson plans in accordance with the CBSE curriculum while catering to diverse learning needs. Serve as the primary point of contact for students in the homeroom, ensuring effective communication and support. Monitor daily academic progress and maintain detailed records on attendance, performance, and behavioral observations. Student Mentorship & Development: Provide personalized support and guidance to students, promoting their academic excellence and overall well-being. Develop and implement initiatives to foster a positive classroom environment, teamwork, and respect among peers. Conduct regular parent-teacher meetings to discuss student progress and address any concerns. School Administration & Coordination: Collaborate with other departmental teachers and school administration to align academic activities and events. Participate in school meetings, professional development sessions, and contribute ideas to improve instructional practices. Ensure the classroom is a safe, welcoming, and conducive environment for effective learning. Extracurricular Engagement: Encourage and guide students in extracurricular activities that support holistic development. Assist in coordinating class events, educational trips, and special programs that enhance the learning experience. Skills and Qualifications: Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Education with a B.Ed. is mandatory. Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of teaching experience in a CBSE school, preferably with a homeroom or mentor role. Classroom Management: Strong organizational skills and effective classroom management techniques. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to engage with students, parents, and colleagues. Interpersonal Skills: Empathetic, patient, and committed to supporting the holistic development of students. Adaptability: Ability to use technology and integrate innovative teaching methodologies into the classroom.
