Hiring Storage & Backup Administrator For Samsung Research Institute

The Storage & Backup Administrator plays a critical role in managing and administering enterprise storage systems to ensure data integrity, availability, and performance. With 35 years of experience, the ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with leading storage platforms such as NetApp, Hitachi, and Dell EMC. Key responsibilities include hardware-level support at the data center, performing regular storage health checks, and collaborating with IT teams for provisioning and troubleshooting.

The role requires in-depth knowledge of storage administration tasks like LUN creation, volume management, zoning, and familiarity with RAID configurations and protocols such as SAN/NAS, iSCSI, FC, CIFS, and NFS. Additionally, the candidate should have a working knowledge of Commvault backup solutions for backup creation, management, and recovery processes.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively are essential for this role. Preferred qualifications include relevant certifications (e.g., NetApp Certified, Dell EMC) and experience in storage scalability and performance tuning.

The position requires onsite support at the data center, including availability for weekend shifts on an on-call basis as needed.

Role & responsibilities

Manage and administer enterprise storage systems

Provide hardware level support at the data center

Perform regular storage health checks, monitoring, and reporting

Collaborate with other IT teams for storage provisioning and troubleshooting

Implement and maintain storage policies and best practices

Preferred candidate profile

Good experience with storage platforms: NetApp, Hitachi, Dell EMC,etc.

knowledge of storage administration (LUN creation, Shares, Volumes, zoning, etc.)

Hardware installation, configuration, and troubleshooting in data centers

Familiarity with RAID configurations, SAN/NAS, iSCSI, FC, CIFS, NFS protocols

Good understanding of storage scalability and performance tuning

Working knowledge of Commvault backup solutions

Understanding of backup creation, management, policies, schedules, restore processes, and media management
