Heat Treatment Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities:

Oversee and control heat treatment processes like annealing, hardening, and tempering.

Quality Control:

Ensure that heat-treated components meet specified quality standards and customer requirements.

Safety:

Maintain a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to all relevant safety regulations.

Personnel Management:

Supervise and train heat treatment operators, providing guidance and support.

Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate records of process data, including furnace parameters and inspection results.

Problem Solving:

Identify and resolve issues or defects in the heat treatment process/chart for zero deviation

Collaboration:

Work with production teams ,SRD, quality control personnel, Forging and other departments to optimize the heat treatment process.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

Deep Understanding of Heat Treatment: Knowledge of various heat treatment processes, including their principles, applications, and process parameters. Use of thermocouples ,recorders and furnace calibration, energy saving in heat treatment;

Material Science: Understanding of metal properties and how heat treatment affects them.

Furnace Operation: Familiarity with different types of gas fired heat treatment furnaces and their operation.

Quality Control: Knowledge of quality control procedures and techniques. like stip chart and digital chart

Safety: Understanding of safety regulations and procedures. like EHS index

Supervisory Skills: Ability to lead, motivate, and train a team of heat treatment operators.

Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments.

Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues or defects in the heat treatment process.

Education and Experience:

A technical diploma or degree in a related field, such as metallurgy or mechanical engineering

Experience in heat treatment operations and equipment is essential.

Experience with various heat treatment processes and equipment is beneficial.

Specific Tasks

Setting up and operating heat treatment furnaces.

Monitoring and controlling furnace parameters, such as temperature, time, and atmosphere.

Loading and unloading materials into and out of furnaces.

Maintaining accurate records of process data.

Troubleshooting and resolving issues or defects in the heat treatment process.

Training and mentoring new heat treatment operators.

Collaborating with other departments to improve the heat treatment process.
