Head Product Development

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the product development team including designers, CAD, model making, sampling, and costing teams.
  
• Drive creation of new collections, seasonal launches, and exclusive designs aligned with brand positioning and business strategy.
  
• Conduct market research and trend analysis to introduce innovative and competitive product lines.
  
• Collaborate closely with Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, and Merchandising teams to ensure product feasibility and timely execution.
  
• Monitor the development process from concept to commercial production, ensuring quality and cost efficiency.
  
• Review CAD designs, technical drawings, prototypes, and final samples for accuracy and craftsmanship.
  
• Optimize product development workflows and introduce modern tools and technologies.
  
• Establish clear timelines, development schedules, and performance KPIs for the team.
  
• Vendor/Artisan coordination for specialized product requirements when needed.
  
• Manage raw material utilization, cost estimation, and price benchmarking.
  
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory norms, and organizational guidelines.
  
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and drive innovation culture within the team.
  

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelors degree in Jewelry Design, Gemology, Fine Arts, Product Design, or related field.
  
• Minimum

  10+ years of experience

  in jewelry product development in a reputed jewelry manufacturing organization.
• Strong understanding of gold, diamond, and gemstone jewelry manufacturing techniques and market segments (Retail/Wholesale/Export).
  
• Expertise in design software (CAD Rhino, Matrix, ZBrush, CorelDRAW, Illustrator, etc.).
  
• Excellent leadership and team-management capabilities.
  
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  
• Ability to multitask and work under tight timeline.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience in national or international jewelry brands.
  
• Knowledge of automation, lightweight jewelry concepts, and current market innovations.
  
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders.
