You will play a pivotal role as the Head of Department for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English (IBDP/A Levels/APs) at our Gurgaon-based educational institution. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the Physics tutoring program, combining instructional leadership with active teaching duties. You will oversee a team of dedicated tutors, develop the curriculum, ensure high-quality instruction, and drive student achievement. Your key responsibilities will include: Curriculum Development: - Lead the design, development, and refinement of the Physics curriculum in alignment with IB, IGCSE, and A-Level standards. - Ensure the curriculum reflects the latest educational methodologies and assessments. Instructional Leadership: - Support and mentor Physics tutors in lesson planning, teaching strategies, and assessment techniques. - Promote best practices in Physics education and cultivate a collaborative teaching environment. Teacher Training and Professional Development: - Organize training sessions, workshops, and peer observation programs to enhance tutor skills. - Provide feedback and mentorship to tutors for continuous improvement in teaching effectiveness. Student Progress Monitoring: - Analyze student performance data to implement instructional enhancements. - Collaborate with tutors to create tailored interventions supporting student success. Parent and Stakeholder Communication: - Act as the primary point of contact for parents, offering regular updates on student progress and program developments. - Foster strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure transparency and engagement. Resource Management: - Manage departmental resources, including learning materials and technology tools, to enrich student learning. - Identify resource needs and facilitate procurement as required. Quality Assurance: - Ensure teaching standards consistency and excellence across the department. - Conduct evaluations and assessments of the Physics program to drive ongoing enhancements. Active Teaching: - Engage directly in teaching a group of students to understand their needs and validate program effectiveness. - Lead by example through hands-on involvement in the teaching process. Qualifications: - Education: B.S., M.S., or PhD in Physics or a related field (Masters degree preferred). - Experience: Minimum 8 years teaching experience in IB & IGCSE Physics with subject expertise. - Leadership Experience: Previous leadership roles in educational settings. - Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, proficiency in educational technology, and strong leadership abilities. - Certifications: Teaching certification preferred. - Flexibility: Ability to teach in online, hybrid, or in-person settings as needed.
