Head of Research and Development - Metal Working Fluids

The ideal candidate for this position will have an advanced degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field along with a minimum of 10 years" experience in lubricant formulation, specifically in metal working fluids. As a Research and Development Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team in designing and formulating new metal working fluids. Additionally, you will oversee the improvement of existing product lines to enhance performance, cost-efficiency, and environmental compliance. Collaboration with cross-functional teams such as manufacturing, marketing, and sales is essential to align R&D projects with market needs and company objectives. Managing the entire product development lifecycle from concept to commercialization, ensuring timely and budget-friendly project delivery, is a key aspect of this role. You will also be required to develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers, academic institutions, and research organizations to remain up-to-date with industry trends and technologies. Compliance with all relevant regulations and quality standards is crucial, and you will be responsible for preparing and managing the R&D budget while providing regular reports to senior management on project status and innovation initiatives. Furthermore, mentoring and developing team members to cultivate a high-performing and innovative department culture is an essential part of this role.
