Role Overview: You are being offered a unique opportunity to join Dakshini Prayash as the Head of Sales and Business Development. This role requires a dynamic and visionary leader who can drive sales, oversee product innovation, and guide the organization's strategic direction. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing effective sales strategies, overseeing product lifecycle, and fostering strategic growth for the NGO. The long-term goal for this role is to transition into the CEO position. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement effective sales strategies to increase revenue and market share for handmade paper and cloth products. - Identify and cultivate new sales channels such as retail partnerships, corporate collaborations, online platforms, and exhibitions. - Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities and challenges. - Oversee the product lifecycle from ideation to production, ensuring quality control and timely completion of orders. - Explore sustainable production methods and source new materials to enhance the product line. - Work closely with the board to refine and execute the organization's long-term vision. - Develop a strategic growth plan for the NGO, mentor the team, and represent the organization at events and in the media. - Manage operational budgets, prepare reports on operational performance, and maintain accurate records of production and sales data. Qualifications: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Design, Social Work, or a related field. - Proven experience in sales, business development, or operational management, preferably in the retail, craft, or social enterprise sector. - Passion for handmade products and understanding of the craft industry. - Experience in product development and a strong aesthetic sense. - Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently, take initiative, and commitment to social impact and women's empowerment. - Experience with e-commerce platforms and digital marketing is a plus.
