Head of Engineering and Products

About the Role: We are looking for a dynamic and strategic leader to oversee our India Global Capability Center (GCC). Your main responsibilities will include driving end-to-end ownership of product engineering, delivery operations, and resourcing strategy. This role demands a combination of strong leadership skills and technical expertise, with an expected 40% hands-on contribution to technical delivery. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of team scaling, optimizing engineering and operational processes, and building high-performance squads that align with product and business objectives. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and expand the India GCC to meet global delivery goals. - Define and execute the operational model, ensuring alignment with hub-and-spoke architecture post-scale. - Establish a self-sufficient team structure with full ownership and accountability. - Provide Technical Delivery Oversight with 40% hands-on involvement in critical technical delivery, architecture reviews, and solution design for core platforms and products. - Experience with database and Data warehousing implementation (Snowflake, DB2, SQL). - Proficiency in Java and Springboot implementations. - Maintain high standards of engineering quality, code health, and platform scalability. - Drive Process Optimization & Agile Transformation by implementing delivery frameworks to enhance predictability, efficiency, and time-to-market. - Introduce lean processes for development, testing, deployment, and support. - Develop a Resourcing & Squad-Based Organization by creating a resourcing roadmap for long-term scalability and short-term demand. - Form squad-based teams structured around Squad Leaders to promote accountability and agility. - Reduce vendor dependency through strategic rebadging and internal capability building. - Foster Cross-Functional Collaboration by closely working with global product, technology, and operations leaders to align GCC initiatives with broader business strategy. - Serve as a strategic advisor on delivery readiness, scalability, and operational risk. Ideal Candidate Profile: - Possess 20+ years of experience in product engineering, delivery leadership, and GCC operations within global teams. - Demonstrated experience in scaling engineering teams of 200+ HC, particularly in product companies. - Strong technical background with recent hands-on contributions in solution architecture or engineering execution, focusing on Database, Data warehousing, Java, and Springboot implementations (approximately 40%). - Expertise in Agile/Lean methodologies, process optimization, and squad-based delivery models. - Proven success in vendor transition, internal capability ramp-up, and location strategy execution. - Excellent stakeholder management skills, with a strong communication ability and strategic mindset. Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - Exposure to global product organizations and experience collaborating across different time zones. - Experience in establishing and managing a GCC or equivalent offshore delivery center.,
