Head Industrial Design (Consumer Electronics)

The role of Lead Industrial Designer at our company involves driving the design and development of innovative, user-focused products. You will be responsible for combining aesthetics, functionality, and manufacturability, leading the design team from concept to production. Collaboration with engineering, marketing, and manufacturing teams is essential to ensure the effective delivery of the product vision. As a Lead Industrial Designer, you will own and drive the design vision for multiple product categories, bringing together form, function, and user experience into cohesive and manufacturable designs. Additionally, you will lead new product design and CMF (Color, Material, Finish) exploration to deliver exceptional physical experiences aligned with the brand's identity. Engaging deeply in user and market research to uncover insights that shape design strategy and direction is a key aspect of the role. Managing multiple parallel projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and overseeing external design partners for timely and high-quality execution are also part of the responsibilities. The ideal candidate for this position is a design thinker with over 6 years of experience in small-sized consumer product designs. A degree from NID Ahmedabad or an equivalent tier-1 design school is required. The candidate should possess a strong aesthetic sensibility, technical understanding of materials and processes, and a collaborative mindset. Balancing creative exploration with real-world feasibility is crucial, with the portfolio reflecting both functional design and visual excellence. The role will involve work spanning early ideation to final mass production, requiring a strong grasp of manufacturing constraints, material sciences, and emerging trends.
