Position Title: Head Career Development Centre (CDC)

Department: Career Development Centre

Reports To: Sr. Director - CDC

Position Overview

The Head - Career Development Centre (CDC) will provide strategic leadership to all initiatives related to student career development, placements, internships, and industry connect at New Horizon College of Engineering (NHCE). The role focuses on enhancing student employability across all Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs, fostering strong industry partnerships, and ensuring high-quality placement outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & Planning

  • Develop and implement the CDC's vision, mission, and annual strategic plan aligned with NHCE's institutional objectives.
  • Establish measurable placement and internship goals across departments.
  • Drive new initiatives to enhance student employability and corporate visibility.

2. Placement & Internship Coordination

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute all campus placement and internship activities for UG and PG students.
  • Engage with companies to identify job and internship opportunities across diverse sectors.
  • Monitor placement progress and submit periodic reports to the Principal and Management.
  • Ensure smooth coordination among department placement coordinators and faculty advisors.

3. Industry Connect & Corporate Relations

  • Build and sustain long-term partnerships with reputed industries, corporates, R&D organizations, and professional bodies.
  • Initiate and manage MoUs for student internships, projects, and placements.
  • Represent NHCE in industry meets, seminars, and career fairs to strengthen institutional visibility.

4. Student Training & Career Development

  • Oversee employability enhancement programsaptitude, communication, technical, and soft skills training.
  • Collaborate with internal and external trainers for certification and industry-oriented modules.
  • Provide career guidance and counselling for higher education, entrepreneurship, and competitive exams.

5. Team Management & Administration

  • Lead and mentor the CDC team and departmental placement coordinators.
  • Establish systems for data tracking, analytics, and placement documentation.
  • Prepare and manage the CDC's annual budget efficiently.

6. Alumni & Employer Engagement

  • Strengthen alumni relations to support mentoring, referrals, and placement assistance.
  • Conduct employer satisfaction surveys and analyze feedback for continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Educational Qualification: Master's Degree (MBA / M.Tech / Equivalent) from a recognized university.
  • Experience: Minimum 15 years of experience, with 810 years in placement, corporate relations, or training roles in reputed engineering or management institutions.
  • Proven track record of achieving strong placement outcomes and developing industry linkages.
  • Experience in leading large teams and managing multi-departmental initiatives.
