Job Summary

The Head - BMS/PCS/EMS will lead the design, development, and integration of Battery Management System (BMS), Power Conversion System (PCS), and Energy Management System (EMS) for Waarees solar energy storage projects. This role will ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of energy storage assets, coordinate vendor integration, conduct safety function analysis, and manage compliance with applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end management of BMS, PCS, and EMS subsystems in solar BESS projects.
• Ensure hardware and firmware safety functions for DC to AC conversion and battery protection.
• Conduct safety function analysis to comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and evaluate vendors, plan and execute integration of BMS, PCS, and EMS components.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project teams to ensure project milestones and quality standards.
• Oversee documentation for system design, integration plans, safety protocols, and compliance certifications.
• Optimize system performance and lifecycle costs through advanced EMS control strategies.
• Stay current with new technologies, standards, and best practices in energy storage systems.
• Mentor and lead the technical team focused on BMS/PCS/EMS development and support.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or relevant fields.
• Minimum 10 years experience in renewable energy or battery storage systems, with leadership responsibility in BMS/PCS/EMS.
• Strong knowledge of battery safety, power electronics, and energy management software.
• Experience in vendor coordination, integration planning, and compliance management.
• Familiarity with solar energy storage projects and grid interfacing requirements.

Desired Skills

• Expertise in BMS functionalities including monitoring, safety, and battery health management.
• Understanding of PCS systems for DC-AC power conversion and safety enforcement.
• Proficient in EMS for energy optimization, system monitoring, and control.
• Safety function analysis and regulatory compliance knowledge (IEC, UL, MNRE, CEA).
• Strong communication, project management, and leadership skills.
