Hardware in loop (HILS) Simulation Engineer

Job Description

Educational Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics / Electronics & Communication. M.E. / M.Tech in Instrumentation, Control Systems, Power Electronics, or Mechatronics. Minimum 70% marks. Preference given to candidates with project work related to Automotive Systems. Key Responsibilities: Define HILS (Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation) specifications for body controllers, powertrain controllers, electric vehicle controllers, and display audio systems. Handle procurement and commissioning of HILS setups. Prepare complete HILS setups including plant model design, wiring harness development, and I/O interfacing. Develop test scenarios, test cases, test procedures, test coverage analysis, and test scripts from specification documents. Perform hardware and software evaluation of electrical components using HILS. Conduct HILS testing of electronic controllers with electrical/electronic troubleshooting. Automate testing workflows using tools such as dSPACE Automation Desk, CAPL, and Python. Generate test reports and perform analysis of test outcomes. Technical / Functional Skills: Strong understanding of hybrid and electric vehicle systems, powertrain, body electronics, and display/audio system architectures. Expertise in HILS system architecture, plant model development, simulations, data logging, and debugging. Deep knowledge of controller development, including both hardware and embedded software. Experience in developing plant models in MATLAB / Simulink / Stateflow. Communication Protocols: Proficiency in CAN, LIN. Diagnostic protocol knowledge: KWP2000, UDS (ISO-14229). Familiarity with J1979, J1939, ISO26262, and Ethernet protocols. Software Skills: Experience with dSPACE tools: ControlDesk, ConfigurationDesk, AutomationDesk, ModelDesk. Proficient in MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, and scripting. Simulation experience using virtual HILS platforms. Knowledge of CAPL, VTest Studio, and Python for test automation. Hardware Skills: Strong knowledge of microcontroller / microprocessor architecture. Familiarity with I/O configuration for controller hardware. Behavioral Competencies: Proactive and self-driven.
