Job Description

The Consultant is responsible for managing OPD/IPD and providing comprehensive care for women's health, including diagnosis and treatment of gynecological conditions, prenatal care, labor and delivery management, and postnatal follow-up. Your role requires a patient-centric approach and adherence to the highest medical standards. As a Visiting Consultant, you are expected to work for 3 to 4 hours per day, 3 days a week. Key Responsibilities: Patient Care: - Diagnose and treat gynecological conditions such as menstrual disorders, PCOS, endometriosis, and pelvic inflammatory disease. - Conduct routine and preventive health checkups for women. Obstetrics Services: - Manage prenatal care, ensuring the health and safety of both mother and baby. - Monitor high-risk pregnancies and provide appropriate medical interventions. - Perform and oversee labor and delivery, including cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures. Surgical Procedures: - Conduct gynecological surgeries such as hysterectomies, myomectomies, and laparoscopic procedures. - Perform diagnostic procedures like colposcopy, hysteroscopy, and biopsy. - Handle emergency gynecological conditions requiring surgical intervention. Patient Education: - Educate patients on reproductive health, prenatal care, and postpartum care. - Provide counseling on lifestyle changes and preventive care for overall women's health. Collaboration and Coordination: - Work closely with other healthcare providers, such as anesthetists, neonatologists, and radiologists, to ensure multidisciplinary care. - Participate in case discussions and hospital committees. Documentation and Compliance: - Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records. - Ensure compliance with hospital policies and medical guidelines. - Adhere to legal and ethical standards, including obtaining informed consent for procedures. Research and Continuous Education (Optional): - Engage in clinical research and contribute to the development of gynecological care. - Stay updated with advancements in gynecology and obstetrics through continuing medical education (CME). Qualifications and Skills: Education: MS/DNB/MD in Obstetrics and Gynecology from a recognized institution. Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience preferred (freshers may be considered for junior roles). Licenses/Certifications: Registered with the Delhi Medical Council. Technical Skills: - Proficiency in conducting gynecological and obstetric procedures. - Ability to interpret diagnostic tests such as ultrasound, Pap smear, and hormone panels. Soft Skills: - Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction. - Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care. - Attention to detail and ability to make quick decisions in emergencies. Working Conditions: - May require managing OPD and on-call duties. - Exposure to infectious diseases and body fluids; adherence to safety protocols is mandatory. - Involves high-pressure situations, especially during labor and delivery cases.
