Job Description

  • Direct Taxation:
  • Lead and manage the direct taxation function, ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and file corporate income tax returns, and actively engage in tax planning strategies.
  • Keep abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations, providing proactive guidance to the organization.
  • Indirect Taxation:
  • Oversee compliance and reporting for indirect taxes, including VAT, excise duty, and customs duties.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely indirect tax submissions.
  • Provide expertise on indirect tax implications for business initiatives.
  • GST Compliance:
  • Manage and ensure compliance with Goods and Services Tax (GST) regulations.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to gather necessary information for GST filings.
  • Conduct periodic internal audits to assess GST compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Government Relations:
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with government authorities, tax agencies, and regulatory bodies.
  • Represent the organization in discussions with government officials and contribute to policy advocacy efforts.
  • Stay informed about government initiatives and policy changes that may impact the organization.
  • Leadership and Team Development:
  • Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Provide guidance on complex tax issues and support the professional development of team members.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to keep the team abreast of changes in taxation laws and government regulations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • 4 years of experience in direct taxation, indirect taxation, GST, and government relations, with a focus on leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations, with a track record of ensuring compliance.
  • Proven experience in building and maintaining positive government relationships.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
