Group Coordinator For Medical Coding

JOB PURPOSE

The Group Coordinator will act as the point of contact for a group of coders, ensuring smooth workflow coordination, assisting in tracking deliverables, and supporting the team in maintaining quality and turnaround times.

REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelors degree in life sciences or equivalent

Experience/Qualification

• CPC/CCS or equivalent certified
• Minimum 46 years of coding experience with at least 12 years in a leadership role
• Experience in [specialty: E/M, ED, IPDRG, Radiology, etc.] preferred
• Strong understanding of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers
• Basic understanding of coding principles and coding software
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Strong in data tracking, reporting, and follow-ups
• Detail-oriented with a sense of ownership

• Essential Skills / Aptitude:

MS office and good typing skills

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Act as liaison between the team and Team Lead
• Track daily productivity and quality reports for the group
• Ensure task allocation and timely completion
• Assist in compiling audit feedback and follow-ups
• Communicate client updates and ensure implementation
• Coordinate leave schedules and shift adjustments
• Escalate issues to Team Lead/Manager as needed
• Provide basic support and guidance to new team members
