Grinding & Honing Supervisor / Setter

Role Overview: As a Grinding and Honing Supervisor/Setter at our gear manufacturing company, you will play a crucial role in overseeing machine setting, programming, and operations for the production of precision gears. Your responsibilities will include ensuring product quality, maintaining accuracy in machine performance, and supporting shop floor activities related to grinding and honing. Key Responsibilities: - Set, program, operate, and supervise grinding and honing machines for gear production. - Ensure proper tool and fixture setup to enhance production efficiency. - Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to uphold accuracy standards. - Inspect gears using gauges, micrometers, and profile checking instruments. - Adhere strictly to quality standards, tolerances, and process parameters. - Guide operators, allocate work assignments, and address shop floor challenges. - Implement safety protocols, 5S practices, and maintain process discipline in the shop floor. - Provide regular reports on production status, rejections, and corrective actions to the management. - Support and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machining processes. Qualifications & Skills: - Diploma/ITI in Mechanical, Tool & Die, or a related field. - Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in gear grinding and honing, with a preference for supervisory or setter roles. - Proficient in gear inspection techniques and the use of precision measuring instruments. - Ability to interpret technical drawings and process sheets effectively. - Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on maintaining quality and productivity. - Experience in team handling and possessing supervisory skills.
