Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain Greenplum database systems.
• Monitor database health and performance; perform tuning and optimization.
• Manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Collaborate with development and data teams to support queries and data pipelines.
• Troubleshoot issues and implement solutions in a timely manner.
• Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance with internal standards.
• Document processes, configurations, and best practices.
• Participate in off-hours support and on-call rotation as needed.
• Knowledge of Oracle database administration is an added advantage. If the skill is not currently available then the person should work proactively to upskill.

Experience:

• Proven experience in managing and supporting

  Greenplum Database

  in a production environment.
• Exposure to

  Oracle database administration

  and tools will be an added advantage.

Skills:

• Experience in database administration with Greenplum and/or PostgreSQL.
• Solid understanding of SQL, database architecture, and performance optimization.
• Experience in Linux/Unix environments and scripting (e.g., Bash, Shell). Familiarity with high availability, replication, and backup strategies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to keep the readiness for contingencies and if required to execute the same in minimal time by seeking necessary approvals.
• Should be able to able to plan BCP and other release management activities with appropriate supports during mocks.
• Should be able to manage capacity management with timely reviews and highlight/ fix the same in case of any breaches.
• Manage performance of the DB and conduct periodic management reviews and share reports with all stakeholders.
• Familiarity with resource management, workload balancing, and segment configuration in Greenplum.
• Knowledge of performance tuning, query plan analysis, and system optimization.
