Role Objective: Provides leadership and establish ownership
Deliver multiple projects considering all aspects of design, procurement, operations and close out within timelines , with highest quality standard, with all compliance on quality, EHS ,Authority approvals, budget, risk mitigation and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Initiation/Planning
- Prepare project execution, logistics and operational strategy of construction in close collaboration with PMO
- Prepare and monitor risk assessment register regularly for the project and maintain action plan and update.
- Assist project planning manager/PMO in making master schedule with schedule of contractors/materials/design drawings/Tender event schedule to facilitate each dept. delivery.
- Prepare and get documented in contracts, the resource plans, in coordination with planning/PMO
- Assist Procurement/ Commercial in technical evaluation of bidders
Construction Management
- Monitoring all site related activities & ensuring the smooth execution as per project schedule with focus on optimum utilization of manpower, capital & materials
- Tracking project activities with key emphasis on EHS, quality, drawings, specifications, standards & codes; reviewing schedule & managing budget for cash flow requirements
- Coordinating with site engineer, supervisor, contractor and consultant for daily work progress and resolving bottlenecks
- Monitoring the progress & quality control during execution, evaluate construction progress & team performance
- Close monitoring of schedule of contractors / material to make sure that these are available on site at right time and with right resources
- Close monitoring of progress with respect to yearly Annual Operating Plan ( AOP) and advise Project Manager if any corrective actions are required
- Organize regular progress review/escalation meeting with all contractors to assess overall progress , quality and safety
- Arrange coordination meeting between different depts. such as Design/MEP and Finishing to make sure that proper sequence of works/workflows are followed at site.
- Make quarterly review of all reconciliations of all critical materials and take corrective actions
- Make sure that all trades are working in tandem with project planning and ensure 100% compliance with company policies
- Make proper phasing of project as per business plan of the company and accordingly prepare logistic plan for the project and update these at regular intervals
- Keep tight control on water/electricity consumption of the project
Cost & Budget Control
- Develop and manage the project budget and control costs throughout execution including CM discretionary budget
- Review and approve contractor bills, variations, and change orders.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers.
Safety & Quality
- Implementing EHS policies and encouraging the team to follow high standards in EHS policies.
- Depth in Technical coordination as well as establishing and maintaining quality standards as per QA/QC norms
- Implement project EHS policy & project QA/QC plan on site without any dilution with the help of Quality & Safety Manager
- Anticipate, plan and monitor all work procedure keeping safety in mind
- Maintain proper standards at labour camp and their welfare
- Review tracking of quality trends in check at regular interval
Handover & Commissioning
- Oversee final testing, commissioning, and handover of the warehouse facility.
- Prepare documentation, drawings, certifications, and O&M manuals.
- Ensure the warehouse is ready for operational go-live.
Team management
- Leading and motivating team of professionals and handling allocation of tasks
- Team building management and striving for excellence.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Strategist & Competent Leader with excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal, negotiation & problem-solving skills
- Logical and well organized with ability to prioritize
- Strong knowledge of warehouse design, racking systems, fire safety norms, industrial construction/MEP systems and codes and authority approvals.
- Proven experience in project management tools and methodologies.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.
Familiarity with safety standards (OSHA, IS codes, local regulations).
Qualification, Work Experience and Other Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management / Architecture (Masters preferred).
- 14+ years of experience in industrial or warehouse construction, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
Preferred Certifications:
- PMP (Project Management Professional)
- LEED Certification (for sustainable building practices)
- Certification in Safety / Quality Management (like NEBOSH, ISO)
