Job Description

Job Title: Global Travel Manager

Location: Chennai, India

Department: Finance / Procurement / Corporate Services (depending on internal structure)

Reports to: Head of Global Procurement / CFO / Travel Program Lead (TBD)

Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Global Travel Program Management
  • Develop and implement a cohesive global travel policy aligned with business needs and compliance requirements.
  • Oversee the phased rollout of the new global travel tool, starting with German entities and expanding to other regions.
  • Act as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders, travel vendors, and the travel tool provider.
  • Operational Excellence
  • Monitor travel program performance, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Analyze travel data and trends to identify opportunities for savings and efficiency.
  • Ensure consistent traveler experience and support across regions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Collaborate with regional and local teams to ensure smooth adoption and integration of the travel tool.
  • Provide training, support, and communication to end-users and travel coordinators.
  • Manage relationships with travel management companies (TMCs), airlines, hotels, and other vendors.
  • Governance & Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, legal requirements, and duty of care obligations.
  • Support audit and reporting requirements related to travel spend and compliance.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Travel Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in corporate travel management, preferably in a multinational environment.
  • Proven experience with travel management systems/tools (e.g., SAP Concur, Amadeus, Egencia, etc.).
  • Strong project management skills, especially in global or multi-phase implementations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote, matrixed environment.
  • Experience working with or in German and/or Indian business environments is a plus.
