Job Description

Role & responsibilities

A. Dewatering System Design

  • Perform design and hydraulic analysis of temporary and permanent

    construction dewatering systems

    for deep excavations.
  • Determine appropriate WellPoint, deep well, or educator systems based on groundwater conditions and project needs.
  • Evaluate drawdown requirements and perform seepage and flow modeling as needed.

B. Deep Foundation System Design

  • Design and analyze

    deep foundation systems

    , including:
    • Drilled shafts / caissons

    • Auger cast piles

    • Micropiles

    • Tiedowns / anchors

  • Develop load capacity estimates and perform axial, lateral, and uplift capacity analyses.
  • Provide recommendations for installation methods and load testing programs.

C. Ground Improvement Design

  • Design

    ground improvement systems

    such as:
    • Grouting techniques (jet, compaction, permeation)

    • Soil mixing

    • Stone columns

    • Vibro-compaction

    • Preloading and surcharging

  • Evaluate effectiveness of various techniques based on site conditions and performance criteria.
  • Develop monitoring and quality control plans for ground improvement works.

D. Geotechnical Interpretation & Parameter Estimation

  • Review and interpret

    Geotechnical Investigation Reports (GIRs)

    ,

    bore logs, lab testing data, and in-situ test results (SPT, CPT, Pressure meter, etc.).

  • Estimate design soil parameters including strength, stiffness, permeability, and settlement characteristics.
  • Prepare geotechnical design models and ground profiles to support analytical and numerical simulations.

General Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including structural engineers, construction managers, and geologists.
  • Prepare detailed design reports, calculation packages, drawings, and specifications.
  • Provide technical support during construction and participate in design revisions based on site conditions.
  • Ensure

    compliance with project specifications, industry codes (e.g., ACI, AISC, AASHTO)

    and local regulations.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in

    geotechnical design for infrastructure, buildings, or heavy civil projects.

  • Proficiency in

    geotechnical software tools (e.g., PLAXIS, SLIDE, LPile, DEEP excavation, Allpile, Shoring Suite, Snail or similar).

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in both empirical and numerical methods.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
