General Manager - Freight Forwarding

Job Responsibilities

• Sharing client leads with the sales team to focus on bringing new customers on board.
• Proper checking and approval of all quotations and jobs across all verticals Ocean, Air, and Project.
• Accompanying the sales team when necessary for onboarding new customers, recovering overdue payments, or resolving client issues.
• Conducting weekly sales meetings to review outstanding payments from current customers and discuss feedback/enquiries from targeted prospects.
• Managing approvals for all types of credit and commissions from the management.
• Building relationships with new customers, sending quotations, and ensuring effective on boarding.
• Guiding the operations team on customs clearance and handling of specialized commodities, wherever expertise is required.
• Promoting team-building activities to ensure collaboration and cooperation among team members.
• Achieving monthly/annual revenue budgets.
• Filling new sales positions as required.

• Manage the overall Freight Forwarding business.
• Source new business and expand scope with existing clients.
• Achieve monthly and annual revenue targets
• Ensure timely collection of dues within the credit period.
• Develop innovative solutions and collaborate across verticals to drive integrated business growth.
• Monitor and support the sales team to achieve their targets.
• Oversee people management, quality standards, and system compliance.
  

Desired Attributes

• Minimum 15 years of experience in Freight Forwarding.
• Strong existing shipper base that can be onboarded.
• Self-motivated and proactive, with a go-getter attitude.
• Knowledge and client base in logistics is an added advantage.
• Ability to provide end-to-end logistics solutions.
• Capability to prepare market reports and share insights with the management.
