Description
As an Engineering Manager at Airtel, you will lead and mentor the engineering team to build products and services aligned with Airtel's growth. You will solve problems, refactor, and evolve the overall architecture by working on existing codebases and new projects. Your role will involve the following key responsibilities: - **Technical Expertise:** Provide guidance on technical and functional aspects of projects, make decisions, and implement best practices in application architecture, development, performance, deployment, and execution to ensure end-to-end business deliveries. - **People Management:** Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback to team members, develop succession plans, allocate resources effectively, and participate in hiring to meet organizational goals and deadlines. - **Project Management:** Be involved in planning and executing engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery within allocated budgets. - **Communication and Collaboration:** Facilitate communication within engineering teams and stakeholders, including quality, operations, product, and program teams, to align with business goals. Address conflicts within teams and foster a positive and productive working environment. - **Innovation and Continuous Learning:** Cultivate a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within your team. Encourage the adoption of new technologies and industry trends to enhance team efficiency. Airtel utilizes various technologies to build products at scale, including Java, Tomcat, Netty, Springboot, Hibernate, Elasticsearch, Kafka, and web services. Additionally, caching technologies like Redis, Aerospike, or Hazelcast, data storage technologies such as Oracle, S3, Postgres, MySQL, or MongoDB, and tooling like Git, Command Line, Jenkins, JMeter, Postman, Gatling, Nginx/Haproxy, Jira/Confluence, Grafana, and Kibana are employed.
