GCP Infrastructure Architect

Key Responsibilities

• Architect scalable, secure, and cost-optimized cloud infrastructure solutions on GCP.
  
• Lead cloud migration and modernization programs across compute, network, storage, and application layers.
  
• Design and implement GCP services including Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Load Balancers, and VPC networks.
  
• Architect hybrid and multi-cloud environments using Interconnect, VPN, Anthos, and service mesh technologies.
  
• Define and implement security best practices using IAM, Cloud Armor, VPC SC, KMS, and Security Command Center.
  
• Develop IaC solutions using Terraform, Deployment Manager, or similar tools.
  
• Design disaster recovery, backup, high availability, and failover strategies.
  
• Conduct performance and cost optimization reviews across GCP workloads.
  
• Collaborate with application, DevOps, network, and security teams to establish cloud governance and architectural standards.
  
• Lead architectural discussions, provide technical guidance, and perform design reviews.
  
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, and cloud security issues.
  

Required Skills

• 5+ years in GCP architecture.
  
• Deep understanding of GCP compute, storage, IAM, networking, monitoring, and security services.
  
• Strong experience with VPC architecture, subnets, routing, firewalls, interconnect, and hybrid networking.
  
• Hands-on experience with GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine) and containerized workloads.
  
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Deployment Manager.
  
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools (Cloud Build, GitHub, Jenkins).
  
• Strong background in cloud security, governance, and compliance frameworks.
  
• Experience architecting large-scale distributed systems and enterprise cloud migrations.
  
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and architecture documentation skills.
  

Preferred Skills

• Google Cloud certifications such as:
  

• Professional Cloud Architect

• Professional Cloud Network Engineer

• Professional Cloud Security Engineer

• Experience with Anthos, Istio, microservices, and service mesh implementations.
  
• Knowledge of Big Data services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc) is an advantage.
  
• Experience with FinOps and cloud cost management tools.
