Job Title: G Card Holder – Customs Operations
Department: Customs Broker
Location: Chennai
Reports To: Customs Compliance Manager / Operations Manager
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable G Card Holder to manage and facilitate customs clearance operations in compliance with regulatory requirements. The G Card Holder will act as the authorized representative for customs procedures, ensuring timely clearance of imported/exported goods, accurate documentation, and coordination with relevant stakeholders including freight forwarders, brokers, and government agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the company’s authorized representative for customs clearance procedures at ports, airports, and other entry/exit points.
  • Liaise with customs officials and port authorities to ensure compliance with import/export regulations.
  • Prepare, verify, and submit required customs documentation including bills of entry, invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry on customs and trade portals such as ICEGATE or other relevant systems.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and transporters for the release and delivery of goods.
  • Monitor and manage duties, tariffs, and other applicable charges for international shipments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all customs transactions and documentation.
  • Resolve issues related to customs holds, detentions, or discrepancies in documentation.
  • Support internal audits and ensure records are in compliance with statutory and internal standards.
  • Stay updated on changes in customs laws, policies, and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Valid G Card issued by Indian Customs (mandatory).
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in customs clearance or logistics operations.
  • Strong understanding of import/export procedures, HSN codes, customs tariff schedules, and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with EDI systems, ICEGATE, and other customs electronic platforms.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle time-sensitive shipments.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in EXIM procedures, Logistics Management, or Supply Chain is a plus.
  • Experience working with bonded warehouses, SEZs, or EOU units will be advantageous.

Note: This position requires on-site presence at ports or customs offices when necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
