Functional Lead

• Lead and execute end-to-end manual testing efforts across multiple projects/modules.
• Own the creation and execution of comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test strategies based on business requirements, user stories, and technical documentation.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and API testing.
• Take proactive responsibility for defect lifecycle management: identification, logging, triaging, and verification using tools like Jira or similar.
• Analyze complex requirements and workflows; identify gaps and provide recommendations to improve testability and product quality.
• Conduct peer reviews of test cases and mentor junior QA team members.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, product owners, and client stakeholders, to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Drive test coverage improvements and help in setting up reusable test suites.
• Participate in stakeholder calls to provide QA updates and clarify testing requirements or blockers.
• Contribute to process improvements, test metrics, and quality reporting for leadership visibility.
• Maintain and enhance API testing coverage using tools like Postman or similar.
• Perform database validations and write complex SQL queries for backend testing.
• Support in planning and executing UAT with business users.

• 6 7 years of hands-on experience in manual testing with deep exposure to functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and defect lifecycle.
• Proficiency in test management and bug tracking tools such as Jira, Zephyr, or TestRail.
• Solid experience with API testing (Postman, Swagger, etc.).
• Expertise in writing and executing SQL queries for backend/database validations.
• Strong documentation skills for test cases, traceability matrices, and test summary reports.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to take ownership and work independently on modules and features with minimal supervision.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with clients and internal stakeholders confidently.
• Willingness to work from the office and handle dynamic project requirements.

• Exposure to or hands-on experience in automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, or REST Assured.
• Experience in testing enterprise-level web or mobile applications.
• ISTQB or equivalent certification is a plus.
• Proactive attitude toward learning new tools and upskilling in automation or performance testing.
